About Scott Malvern

A Career Built on Competing — and Delivering

I’m Scott Malvern, a professional racing driver and performance coach, and SM Performance is built directly from my own career in motorsport.

I’ve spent decades competing in some of the most competitive British and European championships, winning titles, racing at professional level, and operating in environments where performance is measured in thousandths — and mistakes are punished immediately. That experience, both the successes and the pressure that comes with them, is the foundation of everything I do today.

My Driving Career

As a driver, I’ve competed at the sharp end of national and international motorsport, achieving championship success and race wins across multiple categories. Racing professionally taught me how performance really works — not just in theory, but on race weekends, under pressure, against drivers who are just as prepared.

Key elements of my driving background include:

  • Back to back British and European Championships
  • Category win records
  • Multiple prestigious awards and accolades
  • Working within Formula One teams and manufacturer development programmes

Those years as a driver gave me a deep understanding of what drivers actually need — from technical clarity, to mental resilience, to the ability to perform when it counts.

From Driver To Coach

My transition into coaching was a natural progression. I didn’t step away from competition and start teaching theory — I took the standards, discipline, and expectations of professional racing and applied them directly to driver development.

As a coach, my focus is simple: help drivers perform better, faster, and more consistently.

I have worked with drivers across karting, junior single-seaters, GT and endurance racing, supporting both long-term development and immediate race weekend performance. Every driver I work with receives honest feedback, structured support, and a clear performance plan.

Driver Success Snapshots

Over the years, I’ve worked with drivers at different stages of their careers, helping them progress, refine their performance, and achieve results.

Examples of the support I’ve provided include:

  • Drivers progressing through junior single-seater categories into international competition
  • Drivers achieving race wins, podiums, and championship results in British and European series
  • Drivers transitioning successfully into professional GT and endurance racing
  • Supporting drivers within manufacturer-linked and factory-supported programmes

While every driver’s journey is different, the common thread is clarity, structure, and performance under pressure.
